COSTA MESA, CA— Jim Burba, president of Burba Hotel Network (BHN), reported that the company has formed an alliance with intelliMeet to offer clients electronic meeting support and facilitation services for retreats and conferences. In intelliMeet facilitated electronic meetings, the participants use networked computers or keyboards to respond to agenda items. “Instead of competing for talk time, everyone can simultaneously type their ideas and comments, and as a result, the group is able to generate a large number of ideas in a short period of time,” Burba explained. “We will also provide web conferencing services, where meetings are conducted remotely over the Internet.” The technology was used in planning meetings for both the Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS) and the recent Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific (HICAP), Burba noted. Annual conferences organized by BHN include the Americas Lodging Investment Summit in Los Angeles; the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Investment Conference to be held in Jamaica in 2004; the International Hotel Investment Forum in Berlin; and the Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific in Hong Kong.
