MILAN, ITALY— Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, which already has hotels here and in Bali, has targeted Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, and Shanghai as cities it is considering for its next flag. According to published reports, CEO Francesco Trapani sees the hotel business as ripe as a logical growth area for the high-end Italian jeweler. Unlike other designers which license their names to hotel operators, Trapani noted that Bulgari has a majority ownership stake in its hotels. Bulgari owns 65%, while the remaining 35% is owned by the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co., whose parent is Marriott International. Trapani did not give any timetable for the proposed expansion.
