NEWARK, DE— The Buccini/Pollin Group (BPG) has broken ground here on a 91-unit Homewood Suites, located at 650 S. College Ave. BPG affiliate PM Hospitality Strategies will manage the hotel. “This is our first Homewood Suites and a strong complement to our other Hilton product, the Embassy Suites Newark,” said Dave Pollin, BPG president. “We plan to take advantage of obvious synergies in purchasing and cross-marketing and a shared management team.” The six-story Homewood Suites Newark/Wilmington-South will contain an indoor pool, sun deck with a barbecue area, complimentary daily breakfast, fitness center and business center and will be equipped with WiFi connectivity. PM Hospitality Strategies of Alexandria, VA, operates nine hotels and is overseeing the construction of three additional upscale hotels on the Eastern Seaboard. PMHS’ hands-on founders oversee all aspects of day-to-day operations, and emphasize marketing, employee development, and cost-effective operation for each hotel. BPG currently has 10 hotels. completed or under construction, including a complete restoration of the 353-room Madison Hotel in Washington, D.C. (scheduled to reopen in August); construction of an Embassy Suites and another Homewood Suites in Dulles, VA.
