British Government Gives $ To Aid Tourism In Area

NEW YORK The British Tourist Authority has received $17 million in additional funding from the British Government to help the worldwide inbound tourism industry recover from the effects of foot-and-mouth. The decision for additional funding was finalized shortly after The Rt. Hon. Gordon Brown MP, Chancellor of the Exchequer, met with key representatives from the U.S. travel industry in New York to address the impact on their businesses. (5/3/01)
