NEW YORK CITY— Word has it British Airways is in the process of selling a 124-room lodging facility on 55th Street here in a $30-million transaction, with the deal expected to close as early as the end of this week. According to information posted by sources for Crain’s New York Business, Singapore-based B.S. Ong Group Hotels will be purchasing the property in a deal pulled together by the New York and London offices of Insignia/ESG’s hotel group, working on behalf of British Airways. Over the course of the past 10 years, the U.K.-based airline has reportedly utilized the property exclusively to house its flight crews and attendants, a practice apparently expected to continue under the facility’s new owners.
