SANTA MONICA, CA— Hotel Oceana, a 63-suite boutique hotel here, has activated high-speed wireless broadband Internet service (Wi-Fi) in a move to upgrade its guest communications services offering. The services, supplied by Inviz Network Inc., utilize its own high-capacity direct connection to the Internet and does not use any portion of a hotel propertys existing telecommunications gateways or connections from third party resellers. In addition, the firm said its service offers up to a dedicated 20Mbs of bandwidth to each hotel facility with maximum-security wireless connections available anywhere on the property. At present, development activities for its services are underway across at hotel properties operating under the Radisson, Renaissance, Marriott, Sheraton and Crowne Plaza banners throughout the United States. The company expects to announce new deals with other hotels in the coming weeks.
