SCARBOROUGH, ME — The Black Point Inn, listed on the National Registry of Historic Hotels of is being acquired by BPI Partners, LLC. Newly formed under the leadership of Ogden Hunnewell and Bob Gould, both long-time owners of residential properties neighboring the inn on Prouts Neck, BPI Partners, LLC assumed control of the Black Point Inn through a lease/purchase agreement. The final property closing is scheduled for January 2006. BPI Partners, LLC has tapped Pinnacle Advisory Group to oversee the property, which will be operated under the auspices of BPI Management, LLC. A national search for a new general manager is nearing completion, with the successful candidate to be appointed before the inn reopens for the season on April 26, 2005. The field has been narrowed to a handful of industry veterans selected from among the nation’s premier hotels Built in 1878 by the Kahler family at the tip of Prouts Neck, a source of inspiration for noted American artist Winslow Homer, the Black Point Inn enjoys one of the most spectacular settings along Maine’s ruggedly beautiful coastline. Nestled on nine lushly landscaped acres, the 84-guestroom property is surrounded on three sides by ocean.
