CORAL GABLES, FL— HOTEL BUSINESS® has learned that The Biltmore Hotel here, a member of Historic Hotels of America, is in the final stages of a guestroom renovation project. The hotel expects to complete room upgrades this summer and begin spa renovations this fall along with a new corridor art exhibit. Francene Sevcik, corporate director of public relations said the facelift to the Biltmores 280 guestrooms and suites will include the addition of new soft goods and any necessary FF&E refurbishments. In addition, the hotel will begin spa renovations this fall with a two-phase project. Phase one will include upgrades to the spas reception area and phase two will include the treatment facilities. The Biltmore Hotel has also begun an art project that will bring historical photos of Coral Gables and the hotel to the property’s guestroom corridors. Prominent historian Arva Moore Parks is overseeing the project, according to Sevcik. Photos will be gathered from private collections. “It’s a museum-quality photo exhibit,” she said, adding that each corridor will feature a unique theme of photographs.
