PHOENIX— HOTEL BUSINESS® has learned Best Western International vice president and general counsel Nir Margalit has resigned from the global lodging company and will depart the company at the end of this month. Last week, Best Western President/CEO Jim Evans also told the board of directors he was resigning and would not renew his contract when it expires this November. Margalit came to the newly created position in September 2000 from Raintree Healthcare Corp. where he had served as evp/general counsel and secretary. He also worked for CapStar Hotels, the forerunner of Meristar Hospitality, as vp/development and special counsel, as well vp/general counsel and secretary at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.Stefani C.
