PHOENIX— Best Western International is relaunching its frequent guest program, Gold Crown Club International, adding enhanced features to make the program more popular and easier to use. Added is a free global room night award. For example, GCCI members now have the opportunity to earn their points in Paris, Texas and redeem them in Paris, France. The number of points needed for a free night varies depending on the location, but more than 900 properties worldwide are available at an initial 800 point level. There are no restrictions or blackout dates, and awards are fully transferable. GCCI also added elite tiers to the program. This includes a Platinum and Diamond level that gives members the opportunity to earn extra points with each stay and receive early check-in, late check-out and room upgrades when available. The program is designed to let members receive elite status much earlier than most other frequency programs. Fifteen nights are required to earn Platinum status and 30 nights for Diamond level. Once the elite levels are obtained, Platinum members will earn an additional 10% point bonus for all qualified stays and Diamond members will receive a 15% bonus.
