PHOENIX— HOTEL BUSINESS® has learned Best Western International has filled two key corporate positions, promoting two senior-level executive to the posts. David Kong, formerly vp/strategic services, has been named vp/operations and strategic services and replaces Si Sloman, who left the ops post in June and later joined Meyer Jabara Hotels. Kong has responsibility for member operations for the association’s 2,300 member hotels. Previously, he served with KPMG Consulting, and earlier in his career held senior management positions in sales, marketing and operations with Hilton Hotels, Hyatt Hotels Corp. and Regent International. In addition, Will Jansen, formerly vp/reservations-North America, now serves as vp/worldwide reservations services. Jansen has charge over BW’s global res system, with call centers in Dublin, Milan and Sydney. He will continue oversight of res operations in Phoenix and Glendale, AZ. With Best Western for five years, Jansen previously worked for Holiday Hospitality Corp., handling human resources, property operations and reservations at the management level.— Stefani C. O’Connor
