BATAM, INDONESIA—Best Western Hotels & Resorts has opened an upscale hotel here on this Indonesian island of Batam, a short ferry ride from Singapore. The Best Western Premier Panbil is located in Batam’s Panbil Industrial Estate, a major commercial and residential area near Hang Nadim Airport and the International Ferry Terminal.
The hotel offers 233 rooms and suites and feature floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase views of Batam and the Malacca Strait. Facilities include an outdoor pool, a spa and fitness center, a restaurant providing local and international dishes, a rooftop restaurant, a karaoke room, function space and business center.
“With its close proximity to Singapore and status as a free trade zone, Batam has experienced incredible growth in recent years,” said Olivier Berrivin, Best Western’s managing director/international operations, Asia. “It is now a major economic gateway to Indonesia and the broader region.”
Best Western now operates 15 hotels across Indonesia, including locations in Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, Solo, Bandung, Manado, Makassar, Malang and Palu. Best Western Premier Panbil becomes the company’s second new Indonesian hotel to open this month, following the launch of the Best Western The Lagoon Hotel in Manado, Sulawesi.
