LIMA, PERU— The Miraflores Park Hotel, Orient-Express boutique hotel here, now has bath butlers to serve guests in its Penthouse Suite. Offering more than 2,150 square feet of living space, the 10th floor Penthouse Suite consists of a bedroom with king-sized bed, a living room area, bathroom with sauna and Jacuzzi, a separate powder room, as well as a private terrace with a pool overlooking the ocean. Armando Arana, a well-known Peruvian designer, decorated the suite in a neo-classical style. The suite features a vibrant color scheme and paintings, which are original works by contemporary Peruvian painters. The Bath Butler offers guests a choice of bath-time options beginning with a half-hour massage while the bath is drawn with a selection of bath salts, scented oils and milled soaps. Then the lighting is dimmed, scented candles are placed around the bath, and a pre-selected choice of music is played in the background. Among the options are the “Gentlemans Retreat,” which includes a warm bath to relax, a glass of cognac and a cigar; and “Romance in the Air,” consisting of a bubble bath, scented candles, champagne and fresh strawberries. Once the butler is certain guests mind and body are relaxed, warmed towels and a choice of body lotions are prepared. Beds are turned down and a cup of hot chocolate is set upon the night table. The 81-room Miraflores Park Hotel was acquired by Orient-Express Hotels in January 2001. The Orient-Express collection of hotels includes 41 properties around the globe.
