SAO PAULO, BRAZIL— In an exclusive interview with Bass Hotels & Resorts executives here, HOTEL BUSINESS® has learned that Bass will be flagging a Holiday Inn hotel here that will not only be the largest hotel in Latin America, but will also represent the largest Holiday Inn ever. Bass executives said the hotel will be part of a multi-use complex being built here, which will also include a $50 million-convention center. The hotel, which will offer a surprising 780 guestrooms, will be owned by private investors and managed by Bass Hotels. Currently in the pipeline, the Holiday Inn is slated for completion in 2003. Bass Hotels & Resorts owns, operates or franchises more than 3,000 hotels and over 490,000 guest rooms in close to 100 countries and territories. —Kelly Wayne
