LONDON Bass Plc said that RevPAR rose 4.7% at its upscale Inter-Continental chain, was up 4.9% at Crowne Plaza hotels, and rose 4.7% at its Holiday Inns brand in the U.S.

It was also reported that yesterday Bass sold 988 pubs to Nomura International Plc for 625 million pounds, or $909.2 million, allowing the company to focus on hotels. After the sale, Bass has more than 3 billion pounds, or $4.3 billion, to spend on acquisitions. (2/15/01)
