BWI CORRIDOR, MD— Bartech Systems International reports that it has completed its largest installation to date of its automated e-fridge mini-bar system, in the the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Bartech said that it designed its e-fridges to complement the decor of the Bellagio’s rooms, incorporating features such as marble tops and solid wood casings into it product. Bartech technology enables hotels to offer revenue-generating programs such as happy hours with its minibars by allowing hotel management to change pricing of minibar items throughout the day from the front desk. Under the e-fridge system, sensors are placed under all of the products in Bartechs e-fridges. When a guest removes an item, the system instantly sends a message to the hotels PMS. If the item is replaced in a pre-set period of time— typically 30 seconds— it is not recorded as consumed, but hotel staff is alerted to check whether the product has been tampered with. To allow for parental control of access to products in the mini-bar, Bartechs e-fridge is also fitted with electronic keypad lock out system similar to those found on luxury cars.
