MINNEAPOLIS— As previously reported by HOTEL BUSINESS®, Atlantica Hotels, which recently changed its name from Choice Atlantica Hotels to reflect the additional flags it has added to its roster of franchisee offerings, has added Radisson Hotels & Resorts as a strategic partner. Radisson inked a strategic alliance with Atlantica Hotels International that will set the stage for entry of the Radisson brand into Brazil, the eighth largest economy in the world. The new partnership calls for the development 10 hotels and resorts within the next 36 months, with the first Radisson hotels in Brazil expected to be announced mid-July 2001. The development strategy of Atlantica Hotels for Radisson includes conversion of existing hotels and new construction in leading business and leisure destinations throughout Brazil.
