DALLAS—Assa Abloy Hospitality (VingCard Elsafe) has deployed its Assa Abloy Hospitality mobile access, a mobile phone-based keyless entry solution developed specifically for the global hotel market.
Already implemented in more than 30,000 guestrooms and 100 properties worldwide, the solution allows hotel guests to bypass the front desk and use their own smartphone or device to securely access their assigned guestroom. Among the benefits this technology solution provides are increased speed, convenience and efficiency for guests, as well as streamlined front desk operations and reduced operational costs for the hotelier, according to the company.
The product is powered by Seos, a multi-platform ecosystem for issuing, delivering and revoking digital keys across a broad range of smart devices, including phones, microprocessor cards and smart watches. The Seos protocol meets security standards and includes secure messaging, authentication and data confidentiality. The new technology works with all VingCard locks.
“When VingCard introduced RFID technology to the industry in 2006, a plan was already in place to link this technology to the use of mobile keys,” said Tim Shea, president of Assa Abloy Hospitality. “Our future-proof approach to technology means that customers who purchased VingCard RFID locking systems can add this technology without replacing their existing locks, making the transition to mobile keys simple and affordable.”
