Aruba Tourism Picks Up

ORANJESTAD, ARUBA The Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba announced that tourism from the United States to Aruba has increased 8.5% during 2000. The latest figures compiled by the Central Bureau of Statistics and released by the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) show year-end growth in worldwide visitors of 5.5%. The repeat visitor rate exceeded 50% of the total market. The record-breaking year 2000 included for the first time over 1 million visitors to the island. (1/18/01)
