NEW YORK Aqua Sol Hotels has acquired three hotels in Greece and is set to achieve better-than-expected year-end results for 2000, due to be announced in March. The new properties include the 212-room Blue Horizon in Rhodes Lalyssos area, the 257-room Sun Palace Hotel in the Faliraki area of Rhodes and the 185-room Elounda Marmin in Crete.
According to the group s Director Yiannakis Panayides, each hotel offers a superior location and will benefit from Aqua Sol s vast network of international operators. Aqua Sol Hotels now comprises some 40 hotels located in Greece and Cyprus, with further expansion expected. Aqua Sol is also actively seeking means to develop the tourist product in Greece. Plans include extending the tourist season to nine months, over the current seven. (2/2/01)
