MISSION, TX— Plantation Conference Center LP, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hunt Valley Development, has opened a Hawthorn Suites LTD at Sharyland Plantation here. The hotel— previously known as the Grove Bungalow Hotel— features 102 guest suites with full kitchens or wet bars, a pool, a cabaña area, a business center, an exercise room, and a host of other guest amenities in a resort-like setting. Sharyland Plantation is a 6,000-acre master-planned mixed-use development located in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley on the U.S./Mexico border. It currently includes in excess of 2.2 million square feet of office, retail and industrial property, and is also a residential community of more than 1,000 residents. The hotel operates under parent company US Franchise Systems (based in Atlanta, GA).
