NEW YORK— The New York Times reported that Philip Pilevsky, principal in the Philips Hotel Group, plans to open a second boutique hotel in Long Island, located in Long Beach. The new development would feature condominiums with “an attached designer hotel,” Pilevsky told the Times. As previously reported by HOTEL BUSINESS®, Pilevsky also recently opened the 62-room Andrew Hotel in Great Neck, Long Island. However, Pilevsky is best known for his work with former business partners Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager, who opened New York’s famous Studio 54 and who helped open the city’s original boutique hotels— The Paramount and The Royalton— in the 1980s.
