ALBANY— The Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans, based in Wisconsin, has acquired 125 acres in central New York, on a site about 110 miles west of Albany between Syracuse and Utica, according to The Times Union. The group acquired the land with the help of Trading Cove Associates, which has previously assisted the Mohegan Tribe in developing the Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut. The Stockbridge-Munsee are now working to secure a gaming compact with Governor Pataki.
