VERNON HILLS, IL—The Family Business Center at Loyola University Chicago’s Quinlan School of Business has named American Hotel Register Company its 2013 Century Award winner.
The award recognizes an outstanding family-owned business, in operation for 100 years or more, which exhibits strong multi-generational involvement, economic flexibility and the ability to innovate to stay relevant through changing times.
“This award is a huge honor for us and it was only made possible because of the invaluable contributions of all of our amazing associates,” stated Laura Leahy, family member and manager, market analytics. “Because of their dedication to our company, American Hotel has been around since 1865, and will continue to thrive for many years to come as the global leader in the hospitality industry. We are grateful to them and are proud to have them as part of our extended family. This achievement belongs to the entire American Hotel family, not just the Leahy family.”
The Family Business Center at Loyola University Chicago’s Quinlan School of Business announced the winners of its 20th Annual Illinois Family Business of the Year Awards on September 19. There are six awards, including the Century Award, which are presented annually to exceptional Illinois-based family businesses that demonstrate a strong commitment to business development, family and the greater Illinois community. An awards gala will take place on Thursday, November 21, at The Four Seasons Hotel Chicago.
