STAMFORD, CT—Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. has launched its Aloft brand in Buffalo, NY, with the opening of the Aloft Buffalo Airport. Also marking Starwood’s debut in the city, the opening increases the company’s portfolio to six hotels in the greater Niagara region. Owned by Manga Hotels, the new Aloft features 153 loft-like rooms.
“Aloft Buffalo Airport is a terrific addition to Starwood’s growing portfolio and provides an exciting, new destination for next generation travelers and area professionals with its distinctive design aesthetic and live music offerings,” said Brian McGuinness, SVP, specialty select brands for Starwood. “Aloft is enjoying tremendous success and is on track to open its 100th hotel next year, fueled by rising demand in markets worldwide.”
Located 10 minutes from the entrance to Buffalo Niagara International Airport, the hotel is less than 15 minutes from restaurants, nightclubs, art galleries and theaters in downtown Buffalo, and 30 minutes from Niagara Falls. Also nearby are the shops and restaurants at the Western Galleria Mall, Buffalo Zoo, Buffalo Museum of Science and First Niagara Center.
The guestrooms at Aloft Buffalo Airport feature the signature Aloft bed, Bliss Bath amenities, a 42-in. LCD television and a plug & play station for electronics. In addition to the brand’s signature W XYZ bar, hotel amenities include Re:fuel by Aloft—a one-stop, grab-and-go food and beverage area, an indoor Splash pool, 24-hour fitness center, 600 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space, complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle and free WiFi throughout the hotel.
“We are delighted to partner with Starwood Hotels to introduce the popular Aloft brand to the bustling Buffalo Airport corridor,” said General Manager Tom Molenda. “We expect that Aloft Buffalo Airport will soon emerge as a top choice among business and leisure travelers who will appreciate the hotel’s urban flair, intuitive technologies and innovative brand-led programming.”
