WASHINGTON, D.C. The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) is posting energy conservation suggestions on its website, www.ahlaonline.org, to assist the hotel community.

AH&LA teamed with the Environmental Protection Agencys ENERGY STAR program and the associations environmental partner, Project Planet, in response to the newly imposed energy surcharges at some lodging properties.

The tips focus on three main areas including customer service guidelines, which help guests concerned with energy surcharges; property energy performance, which helps hoteliers compile a strategic energy management plan; and consumer support, which offers guests simple, voluntary conservation suggestions.
