SEATTLE— AFM Hospitality Corp. has completed the acquisition of San Diego-based Trigild Services, Inc. William Hoffman, one of Trigilds original founders, will continue to lead the AFM Interim Asset Management team as President of Trigild International. Trigild is a hotel, restaurant and commercial property management company whose customer base consists primarily of financial institutions, and currently has 52 contracts generating annual sales revenues of more than $50 million. The announcement comes on the heels of Salisbury, MD-based Marshall Management pulling out of a planned merger with publicly traded Toronto-based AFM Hospitality. As previously reported, the move came after owners of properties managed by Marshall indicated a strong preference to keep the status quo with the midscale operator instead of being melded into the larger portfolio of the Canadian concern. If consummated the deal would have given AFM 22 management contracts representing some 3,000 rooms. Trigild provides receivership and turnaround management solutions for nationally franchised brands, and has managed more than 300 hotels, restaurants, apartments, office buildings, gasoline stations, convenience stores and a variety of other businesses throughout its 27-year history. Current contracts include operation of brands as Hyatt, Holiday Inn and Ramada hotels, Applebees, Dennys and KFC restaurants; and Texaco, Chevron and Exxon service stations and truck stops. AFM will continue the acquired businesses as Trigild International using the established Trigild brand names. As a reintroduced subsidiary of AFM, Trigild International will operate as the new Interim Asset Management division of AFM Hospitality. AFM is now Canadas largest multi-brand lodging franchisor and has open and/or executed franchise, management or service agreements with more than 200 hotels, restaurants, and other nationally franchised service businesses throughout the United States and Canada.
