BANGKOK— Accor has been awarded a 10-year contract to manage the 80-room Panwa Beach Resort on the southern Thai resort island of Phuket. The resort will be rebranded under Accor’s Mercure flag— it will be renamed the Mercure Panwa Beach Resort in May 2002. Prior to the rebranding, an additional 70 rooms will be added to the property, bringing its total room count to 150. Meeting and banquet facilities will be expanded, and another restaurant will be added to an existing bar and international restaurant.
