Six Senses Arrives in Cambodia
Six Senses Krabey Island is scheduled to open on Dec. 1, as the brand marks its arrival in Cambodia. Six Senses Krabey Island is set on a 30-acre private tropical island located three miles off Ream National Park in southern Cambodia.
Six Senses Krabey Island has 40 private pool villas that include green living roofs, sun decks with infinity plunge pools and rain showers. The resort also has two restaurants, a gym, spa, a sunset bar and an ice cream parlor.
Sustainability initiatives include the resort’s own water bottling plant using glass bottles, the Earth Lab that tends a 3,700-sq.-ft. organic market farm, coral propagation program, the support of school programs in nearby villages as well as the introduction of sustainable practices within the local Khmer communities.
Development Underway in Hong Kong
New World Development’s art and design district Victoria Dockside will have a new luxury hotel residence concept. Located at the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, the residences, named K11 Artus, are scheduled to open in summer 2019. Comprising 287 residences and spanning across 14 stories, Artus is an extension of the K11 brand, the global high-end lifestyle brand.
Artus will be part of the groundbreaking Victoria Dockside development, the 3-million-sq.-ft. art and design district in Tsim Sha Tsui. The $2.6-billion development includes the K11 Atelier office tower and K11 MUSEA, a new high-end experiential retail, art, cultural and dining destination.
Kohn Pedersen Fox designed the building while Bangkok-based P Landscape (PLA) is responsible for the surrounding greenery. Hong Kong-based architect Andre Fu and his studio AFSO designed the interiors.
Mandarin Oriental to Open Beachfront Property in Thailand
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will manage a new luxury resort on Phuket Island in Thailand, which is scheduled to open in 2022.
Mandarin Oriental, Phuket will be located on one of the undeveloped beachfront sites still to be found on ‘Millionaire’s Mile’ on the west coast of Phuket island. It will occupy 23.5 acres (9.5 hectares) of land in the Laem Singh Bay. The hotel will have 105 rooms including 37 pool villas.
Facilities include three restaurants and bars and a beach club. There will be a range of flexible function facilities, a spa, fitness center, kid’s club and two outdoor swimming pools. The project ownership is represented by Grand Larn Luang Co. Ltd.
