BABSON PARK, MA — The Center for Executive Education at Babson College, a part of Aramark Harrison Lodgings Collegiate Collection, held a grand opening ceremony last week to unveil its newly completed $32 million expansion. The property, located on Babson Colleges 450-acre campus in Wellesley, MA, is 20 minutes from downtown Boston. The 85,000-square-foot expansion added 82 guestrooms to the facility, bringing the total to 211. Each room has a dedicated work area, two-line phone with voicemail, dataports and amenities such as color television and stereo. A new conference wing includes two multi-tiered amphitheaters accommodating 60 and 85 people, a 3,000-square-foot divisible classroom and nine breakout rooms. Computers with wireless keyboards and plasma screens are now in all breakout rooms and a video-teleconference suite has been added. Additionally, two 960-square-foot conference rooms have been reconfigured into four breakout room pods adjacent to the propertys main meeting rooms, and a new cocktail lounge area, lobby and dining area have been added. The new main dining room seats 320 and a separate 80-person private dining room is also available. A new fitness center will be added by year-end. The project, which began in May 2001, increases meeting space to 22,500 square feet from 12,000 and has increased meeting rooms and breakout rooms (18 and 19, respectively) to a combined 37 from 16.
